〈Hospital Productions〉を主宰するDominick FernowことVatican Shadowが、Berghain/Panorama Barが運営するレーベル〈Ostgut Ton〉のミックスシリーズ『Bergahain』の第9弾をコンパイル。ミックスとコンピレーションが3月15日にリリースされる。

 

 

 

Dominick FernowことVatican Shadowは、2017年に〈Ostgut Ton〉からのEPリリースをはじめ、同年よりBergahainにてレジデントを務めており、インダストリアルやノイズ〜アンビエント、そして歪んでいるメロディーとリズムで構成される彼のライヴ&DJのハイブリッドセットは、旧来的なテクノとは対照的なアイディアにありながらも、予想外にクラブにおけるテクノの境界線を押し拡げてきた。

またFernowは、特にダークなインダストリアルミュージックや実験音楽における最重要レーベルであり、20年以上の歴史と500作を超えるカタログを持つ〈Hospital Productions〉を未だフレッシュに主宰/運営し続けており、Vatican Shadowの他にもPrurientやRainforest Spiritual Enslavementといった多数の別名義を通じて、前衛的なアーティストとしての姿勢を貫き続けている。

 

 

Vatican Shadowが手掛けた『Bergahain 09』のミックスは3月15日よりWAVファイルでフリーダウンロードで公開される。同日に2LPヴァイナルとデジタルでリリースされる。ミックスに収録されるエクスクルーシヴトラックをまとめたコンピレーションには、Genesis Breyer P-Orridge、Virile Games、Los Angeles Death Cult、Ron Morelli、Volvox、JK Flesh、Alberich、Ugandan Methods and Prurient、そしてMerzbowのロックドグルーヴ（ビートループ）が4曲収録されている。〈Ostgut Ton〉は『Bergahain 09』について、「Vatican Shadowの複合的な音楽の影響とクラブとしてのBerghainとの関係性を反映している」と説明している。
