An institution on Ibiza, Space is probably the most famous day club in the world. Its 22 hour Sunday events is the essential Balearic club experience with a list of top drawer DJ's keeping the dance floor happy through the day and through the night. The legendary terrace sees most of the action while the sun is up but after midnight noise restrictions takes the party inside to Space's futuristic main room. We love Space is the highlight of the week at Space and when you see this seasons lineup you'll see why. With Steve Lawler resident there every week this summer he will be joined by pretty much everyone who's spinning on the island this year, including 5 dates with James Zabiela and 4 with Groove Armada.

Their launch party was one to remember, the party going off when I arrived at 4.30 in the afternoon. Local resident Sin Plomo was stirring up a fury on the terrace until local favourite Jose Padilla took over taking a break from his usual ambient sets to play 2 hours of quality electro house. Steve Lawler took up his first 2 hour set of the summer to a packed crowd on the terrace and kept them bouncing until long after his set was supposed to finish. So long in fact that Digweed had to start playing to a half empty room inside! Not for long though, his selection of hypnotic tracks capturing the minds of the masses inside for 3 entrancing hours until James Zabiela took over with his characteristic breaks assault, dirty hard bass keeping the dance floor packed until the very end.
If you do manage to save up enough money to buy a small car and decide to just blow it on 2 weeks in Ibiza you HAVE to go to space, in fact if you don't I'm sure you'll have missed out on part of what makes Ibiza great. The chance/excuse to party all day and all night with a crowd of like-minded nutters, listening to a lineup of top DJ's that you only usually see at the big festivals, in the beautiful Spanish sun. And if it all gets too much you can pop out for a swim in the sea!
