第1回 House Music Award の結果が発表！
今年からイギリスにおいて新たに開催されることになった"House Music Award - ハウス・ミュージック・アワード"が、昨夜ウエスト・ロンドンのクラブNeighbourhoodにて行われ、数多くのハウスミュージック・シーンのスターたちが勢ぞろいする中、各部門の受賞者が発表された。6月30日にノミネート審査が締め切られ、その後はコマーシャル的な要素を一切排除するために、受賞者は全てハウスミュージック・ファンによりオンライン投票を元に進められてきたこのアワード。ハウス・ミュージックに焦点を当てたアワードということで、会場には業界関係者やファンたちが大勢詰め掛ける中での開催となった。
各部門の受賞者は以下にリストアップしたが、最も多くのプライズを獲得したのはイギリスのレーベルDefected Recordsで、"レーベル・オブ・ザ・イヤー"や"アーティスト・オブ・ザ・イヤー"（ともにJunior Jackが対象）の２つを含む合計６部門で見事栄冠に輝き、この日の主役の座に座ることに。また、DJ部門においてはRoger Sanchezが受賞。Everything But The GirlのBen Wattによってその栄誉が受け渡された。
授賞式のほかに豪華なアーティストが出演するショーケースもプログラムとして組まれており、居合わせたファンにとっては嬉しいサプライズとなったBen Wattによる1時間のDJセットを始め、Reel Peopleによるライブなどが、この記念すべき第一回目のアワードに華を添えていた。
