Jose Padilla Stays Behind Bars

US authorities this week approved President Bush's decision to detain Al Qaeda suspect Jose Padilla indefinitely without charge, overturning a previous judgement which had challenged his detention.

US attorney general General Alberto R. Gonzales said he was delighted with the ruling, saying in a statement, "the authority to detain enemy combatants like Mr. Padilla plays an important role in protecting American citizens from the very kind of savage attack that took place almost four years ago to the day." The judgement is likely to please Caf? Del Mar chillout king Jose Padilla, who admitted several years ago that the arrest of his terrorist suspect namesake had caused him some difficulties.

"Now he has been held at least I can travel the world without fear if mistaken identity," the Ibiza icon told The Sun.(Jonty Skrufff)
