WMC Miami 2005
The dates have been set for the 2005 20th anniversary edition of the World Music Conference in Miami. Taking place from the 22nd to the 26th March 2005 it will be the event where the next year's developments in dance music are hammered out at lavish poolside parties and glamourous evening events. Business music industry style!
But it's not just about the parties, (although there will be something going on pretty much non stop for the 5 day duration of the event), the daytime program has an interesting and varied program of discussions, seminars and workshops on all aspects of the record industry from the issues facing everyone like digital downloads to technology demonstrations and legal advice, all designed to maximise networking opportunities for everyone involved.
It will be the parties though that define the event. Last year pool side parties by Distinctive Records and the live collaboration of Erick Morillo with P Diddy made waves throughout the industry for the rest of the year with the subliminal duo going on to perform one of the most talked about collaborations of the year in Ibiza. The highlights of 2005 will surely see some of their first performances at the event and although no party lineups have yet been announced, you can be sure the cream of global dance music will be playing.
