When you're talking about DJs at the top of their game you can't get much bigger than Mr Digweed. In it and on it since back in the day he is well recognised by all and many as one of the world's top jocks. With this in mind it was only natural that Azuli would eventually come to the big man and ask him to produce one of their magnificent 'Choices' albums. The series, which asks some of the worlds best DJs to play their musical influences and artists they admire, has previously been compiled by the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega, Derrick Carter and Jeff Mills and is becoming well known for its resurrection of lost classics.
As you might expect from someone like John his selection throws up quite a few nice little almost forgotten numbers from Artists such as The Grid, a Morales mix of INXS and Hypnotone. A step away from his usual trademark progressive style, which, let all DJs not forget, is actually quite nice sometimes!
Nice but you want to get more real life?, you want to hear it laid by Diggers himself?, well you can, and for free! On the 9th March in celebration of the new album the record label, Azuli will be throwing a party for the release at Trendy central London nightspot AKA, part of The End club. Like the album you can expect the music to be a bit more chilled out than John's usual trademark dancefloor sounds although we can't promise the same of the crowd. John Digweed for free?, you know it's going to be rammed. (Matt Cheetham)
