Aoyama's Orbient Revamp
Trendy Aoyama nightspot 'The Orbient' is revamping their B1 event space with a new lounge orientated concept opening as 'Lounge O' from the first of July.
Designed by Shuwa Tei, (brother of DJ Towa Tei) who achieved fame after his acclaimed redesign of Hotel Claska the new venue has a restaurant area as well as Bar/Event space. Well respected amongst Tokyo clubbers for its cool design but let down by its previous 2am finishes the new lounge extends its opening hours until 5am bringing it into the same league as other clubs in Tokyo.
And from the first months schedule it looks like its competing with the quality of its artists as well. Their opening party on July 1st saw Readymade FC from French label, F-Communications with Yasuharu Konishi from Pizzicato Five on the 3rd of July and Stauinboy from Yellow Productions on the 17th of July.
