French disco-house star Dimitri from Paris kicked off promotion for his
upcoming Valentines Day themed compilation Dimitri from Paris A Night In The
House of Love, though categorically refused to be interviewed by Skrufff.
He won't let you, he refuses to talk to you, a label PR spokesperson
confirmed, Because he was miffed about your inquisitive drugs questions
last time.
The fiercely anti-drug Frenchman blasted drug-using clubbers for failing to
enjoy dancing without chemical assistance in an interview with Skrufff last
summer and suggested if they didn't enjoy music straight they should seek
their pleasures elsewhere.
"if people are on drugs too much there is a filter between me and them and a
filter that I don't particularly understand or know how big the filter is to
get to them. This is something that I find annoying, that there is this
thing in between. Between reality and you. Something that is blurry," he
complained.
"That's the problem I have with drugs, that you can't enjoy things fully
without having something that makes them look different, because in reality
they are not different, they are the way they are, so why not try to enjoy
them the way they are or just not like them and enjoy something else,"
Dimitri continued.
"Something that really made me laugh once was Ali G saying 'Ecstasy is
terrible - it makes you like house music': there was some truth in that," he
added.
Dimitri from Paris- A Night In The House of Love is out on Defected Records
in February.
