Taking samurai sounds to the UK Japan's favourite electronic music radio station, and one of the best stations broadcasting on the net, www.samurai.fm is very proud to announce the launch of samurai.fm Sessions UK, a monthly showcase of the quality music the station is known for taken to the place it was made for, the club.
Each month the samurai residents will be joined by some of the artists and labels featured on the station, the music policy for the events as simple as the station's, quality electronic sounds from all genres from breaks to house to drum and bass to hip hop and back. We'll be mixing it up every month so expect the unexpected but one thing is for sure, it's going to be good music whichever way you look at it.
All nights will be recorded and broadcast on the station a couple of weeks after the event so fans will be able to relive their favourite sets or hear what they missed!
The launch party takes place on the 3rd of March and it's going to be a very special night.
Keeping with the stations strong commitment to breaks downstairs we have samurai residents TCR records headlining with a special appearance from the mighty JDS. Joining JDS for a rare London date is Lot 49's Dylan Rhymes playing a very special live set never before heard in a club. Completing the downstairs break beat line-up are samurai.fm's break beat duo Canine Sounds doing what they do best, laying down some fierce breaks.
Upstairs we're bringing the home-grown sound of samurai with some of the station's Japanese artists entertaining, Teqnicolor Sound's Maxrelaxx will be playing his usual selection of 'never heard it before but fuck it's cool' minimal electechno early on before the newest samurai stars, just back from their tour of Poland, The Future Sound of Clapton take over the decks with the freshest east London electro sounds.
For a taste of what to expect check out samurai.fm for shows from the stars of the event.
