The Hacienda Returns

More New Year’s mayhem for you, this time with a Hacienda flavour. The legendary musical town of Manchester will be watching the clock tick closer to twelve with the help of some classic tunes that typified the pioneering yet financially unsuccessful club.
Hacienda resident for a decade Graeme Park will be partying like it’s 1989 alongside Jon Dasilva who also took up residency at the Whitworth Street West address during the club’s glory years. On top of the retrospective DJ sets there will also be live performances from Manchester acid house prodigies 808 State and K-klass.
The upcoming New Year’s eve party adds to a recent flurry of activity under the Hacienda name which may be largely due to the Factory Records themed movie “24 Hour Party People” which re-sparked people’s interests back in 2002.
This year saw the release of the mix CD “The Hacienda Classics” which was compiled by New Order bassist Peter Hook. Hook has been touring relentlessly with his new found DJing hobby including a gig earlier in the year at club Air in Tokyo.
The Hacienda NYE party will be held at the Manchester Academy 1 on December 31.
