With so many festivals and events to choose from (and many more to come), It’s refreshing to see a festival who aims to please party goers as well as give something back. The Lake Of Stars Festival started in 2003 to help the Malawian economy (Malawi is located in southeastern Africa) and raise money for various charities. With the help of some superstar artists like Felix B of Basement Jaxx and Andy Cato of Groove Armada, and the unique music scene (and artists) of southern Africa, this festival continues to wow the crowds.
The actual festival takes place from October 5th to the 7th at the Chintheche Inn, Northern Malawi. However before people jet set to the serene shores of Lake Malawi, the Lake Of Stars is taking over Fabric to promote the event but more importantly help out UNICEF. This one night event will feature a super rare DJ set by Basement Jaxx, also playing will be Rob da Bank, Annie Mac (both of which are playing at the festival), Four Tet and a 30 DJ Marathon set.
Lake of Stars will take place on May 3rd at Fabric London.
